Pathways
nesa and the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust have worked together to plan a programme of arts and creative activity, the Pathways Programme, that will be embedded throughout identified care pathways for women in medium secure care in the South West by 2011. The programme will also target both step up and step down care pathways, exploring and developing links with progression routes already in place, to ensure that creative activities that support personal development are available to all women [and potentially their families] as they progress through established care pathways.
The aims of the project
  • To integrate recreational arts activites within pathways of care for residents of Teign Ward.
  • Create opportunities for residents of Teign Ward to improve their living circumstances and environment with individual and group artworks.
  • Develop integrated and publicly funded arts activity across step up and step down care pathways, to ensure a creative and therapeutic aproach to psychiatric care for women throughout the service catchment area.
  • To monitor, analyse and review progress of the project to measure success and ensure sustainabiity.
