art|works in Radstock
Free, fun, creative activities for all the family. It has been well documented that doing things together can have a big impact on our sense of community. This has been highlighted in the nesa art|works festival.
Over 800 people attended last year’s art|works event from Radstock and the surrounding areas to take part in a wide range of creative activities. Attendees were given the opportunity to sample a variety of workshops including clay, willow making, bag for life, drumming and jewellery making. Entertainment included musicians, choirs, a juggler, martial arts and dancers. A variety of brightly coloured flags produced by local primary school children and community groups marked the locations of the festivals activities.
The event demonstrates how a joined up, creative approach to a community event can have a real impact upon community pride and cohesion.
This year’s activities will be focused around St Nicholas School, St Nicholas Church and the green field site behind Tea and Trade Café – both around Kilmersdon Road, Radstock. There will be masses of free creative and fun things for all ages to see and do. Thanks to nesa, our partners and Norton Radstock Town Council it will all be absolutely FREE!! So make a date in your diary for...
clay workshops; stone carving; mosaic workshops; street dancing; skateboarding; playranger activities; drumming workshops; willow workshops; art exhibitions; archery; bands; craft tents; face painting; swing boats and roundabouts; cycle events; wildlife trust and marquees jam packed with every type of arty activity you can imagine!
