"I'd never used a camera before. I've even been learning to use a digital one. And I've had the determination to buy one of my own". Creative Links participant
Creative Links is an art project that supports participants’ progression from discrete arts sessions within mental health care settings to participation in community and educational arts activities and courses. The sessions are facilitated by trained artists who support creativity within the group and individually. Participants are given the opportunity to develop their digital photography skills whilst exploring hidden places in and around Radstock.
An exhibition of their work was showcased during World Mental Health week at a public event in Bath during October 2009 and also at Shepton Digital Arts Festival October 2009, who have asked to tour the exhibition for the next year. It will be showcased at the Tea & Trade cafe, Radstock, for a week in February 2010 and at a B&NES Wellbeing and Arts Conference in Bath, March 2010.
